A postdoc position is available!

A two-year postdoc position is available in our group, starting as soon as possible in 2018. The project concerns the development of new synthetic methodology, primarily that based around transition metal-catalysed C-H functionalisation, organo-main group chemistry and the reactivity of (hetero)aryne systems.

If you’re interested, you should:

  • have completed your PhD
  • have strong experience in organic synthesis, homogeneous catalysis and/or organometallic chemistry
  • apply by emailing your CV, list of publications and a cover letter to Lukasz

The deadline for applying is the 4th of March 2018.

After the deadline, selected candidates will be invited for interview. If you do not hear about the outcome of your application within 2 weeks after the deadline, please assume you have been unsuccessful.

Bachelor, Masters & Erasmus exchange students

If you’re looking to do a Bachelors or Masters research project and would like that to be in the organic synthesis/methodology/catalysis direction, we’d love to hear from you. For opportunities, please send us an email.

Prospective PhD students

There are two options for doing a PhD in our group:

  1. There is a funded position
  2. You have/would like to apply for funding.

1. Funded positions

In Sweden all funded PhD positions are advertised publicly and the recruitment process is open and competitve. This means Lukasz cannot promise you a position in advance. When a funded PhD position becomes available, we will advertise it (we have to) on the Uppsala University website, on this page and probably in other places too. There’s nothing Lukasz can do with random emails asking for a PhD position.

2. You have/want to apply for your own funding

If you have your own funding for a PhD or would like support for obtaining funding, please contact Lukasz directly.

Prospective postdocs

Postdoc positions can be funded in various ways. In some cases, funding is obtained first and then the position is advertised. In others, it is necessary to nominate a candidate/applicant in advance of making the funding application. Alternatively, you might want to apply for your own funding with our support.

If you have an interest in our type of chemistry, a strong CV and would like to join our group for a postdoc, please email Lukasz.

If we have a postdoc position available in the group, it will be advertised on this site and probably elsewhere too.

Some general things to consider

If you don’t already live in Uppsala, it’s a really good idea – to plan your visit well in advance. Uppsala is a small university-dominated city and can be tricky to find accommodation, especially at short notice. If you’re an Erasmus student and your University has already an agreement with Uppsala University, you will probably have an easier time. In all other cases, please make contact in good time.
