Our Perspective on the C4-H functionalisation of indoles is published in Chem. Sci!
Congratulations to Jagadeesh and our collaborators, Lutz Ackermann and Gandeepan Parthasarathy from Göttingen!
All the latest comings, goings and happenings from our group…
Congratulations to Jagadeesh and our collaborators, Lutz Ackermann and Gandeepan Parthasarathy from Göttingen!
We welcome Jianguo Liu to the group, who joins us on a postdoc for 2 years!
We welcome Ann-Cathrin to the group for a 2 month Erasmus project.
A postdoc position on organic methodology is available in the group. Application deadline is 4th March 2018.
Lukasz gives an invited talk at the CHEMS seminar series, Helsinki University.
Susanne and Yannick arrive from Germany and join our group for a project work in methodology development. Welcome!
Enormous congratulations to Carina, who defends her PhD and earns her doctorate! Huge thanks to Prof. Brenton DeBoef for travelling from Rhode Island to be the opponent, and thank you to the other committee members who contributed to a great discussion.
Another happy moment in the group as Carina, in keeping with Swedish tradition, nails her PhD freshly printed thesis. The title is New Arylation Strategies Based on Organomain Group Reactivity. The defence is the next and final challenge!
We welcome Jagadeesh Kalepu, who arrives as a Wenner-Gren international postdoc.
Synform publish an interview with Lukasz, in which he opines about the the group’s projects and ambitions, the benefits and future of organic chemistry and what motivated him to take up organic chemistry in the first place.
Matt (left) and Fredric (right) join our group for the long haul. They will be working on a combo of catalysis, aryne chemistry and organometallics. Welcome, chaps!
Karthik defends his PhD! 24th February 2017 Huge congratulations go to Karthik, who has successfully defended his PhD thesis, Ruthenium-Catalyzed C-H Functionalization of (Hetero)arenes. He is the first student to emerge from our group with a PhD! The opponent for the occassion was Prof. Victor Snieckus from Queen’s University in Kingston, ON. We thank him enormously for crossing “The…
In what some Swedish observers have already called Spikning, Karthik has kept up an archaic tradition and nailed his freshly printed PhD thesis to a plank of wood. And there was much rejoicing.
Jakob Seitz joins us from Freidrich-Alexander University on a Masters Erasmus exchange. Welcome, Jakob!
Lukasz is appointed as a biträdande lektor, the official translation of which is “Associate Senior Lecturer”. Starting 2017.
Gwendoline Delepierre arrives via the Erasmus program to do her Masters project with us in collaboration with the group of Anders Thapper at Uppala’s Ångström laboratory. Welcome, Gwenn!
Congratulations to Carina, who won a prize for a poster on C-H silylation at the Organikerdagarna conference in Umeå.
Many thanks to Thieme for awarding Lukasz the Thieme Chemistry Journals Award for 2016, given to “high-potential researchers in the field of synthetic organic chemistry”.
The group (being Lukasz at the moment, whilst recruitments go on…) has made its first compound. It is, of course, a colourless solid.
Thanks to a generous Young Researcher grant from the Swedish Research Council, and The Department of Chemistry’s hospitality, the Pilarski Group begins its life in research! Thanks go out to all who made it possible (you know who you are)!
